Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 May 2026
This page explains how spiritcasino-australia.net uses cookies and similar technologies. It complements our privacy policy.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. The site can then read its own cookies on subsequent visits. Cookies are used for things like remembering preferences, keeping you logged in, and understanding how people use the site. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and tracking pixels.
The Three Categories We Use
1. Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the site to function. They cannot be disabled in our consent banner because the site won't work properly without them. They store things like your cookie-consent choice itself, your light/dark theme preference if you set one, and security tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery.
- Purpose: site operation and security
- Retention: typically 30 days to 12 months
- Personal data: minimal — preference flags only
2. Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages they read, how long they stay, which links they click, where they came from. We use this data in aggregated form to improve content and fix problems. We do not use it to identify individuals.
- Purpose: traffic analysis and content improvement
- Retention: up to 14 months for individual session cookies
- Personal data: truncated IP address, anonymised session ID
- Provider: a privacy-focused analytics service configured to not combine our data with other services
3. Marketing Cookies
Affiliate tracking cookies record when you click an outbound link to a partner casino. If you subsequently register, this cookie tells the casino which referrer to credit. The casino sets cookies on its own domain when you visit it — those cookies are governed by the casino's privacy policy, not ours.
- Purpose: affiliate attribution
- Retention: typically 30 to 90 days
- Personal data: click ID only; no identifying information
How to Manage Cookies
You can control cookies in three ways:
- Our consent banner. On your first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise by category. You can change your choice any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer.
- Your browser settings. All modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) let you view, delete and block cookies on a per-site basis. Look in Settings → Privacy or equivalent.
- Browser extensions. Privacy-focused extensions like uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger and others give granular control over tracking.
Note that disabling essential cookies may break parts of the site. Disabling analytics and marketing cookies will not affect site functionality but will mean we have less aggregate data to improve the site with, and that affiliate clicks may not be tracked.
Do Not Track
We honour the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal where the user has explicitly enabled it. With DNT on, we suppress analytics and marketing cookies regardless of consent banner choice.
Cookies Set by Third Parties
When you click an outbound link to an external site (a casino, a regulator, a support service), that destination site may set its own cookies on its own domain. Those cookies are not under our control. Review the destination site's own cookie and privacy policies for detail.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when our cookie usage changes. The “last updated” date at the top shows when the current version went live.
